A Message from your President,
Hello, Esteemed Phi Pi Members,
We kick off our “elections" for the Phi Pi Chapter positions for 2025 to 2027. We welcome all members to consider running for a position. All positions are open to all members except the "Counselor" position. The "Counselor" positions need an employee of Chamberlain University as they work more directly with students and faculty of Chamberlain University and induction lists. Chamberlain University provides the list of qualified students for invitation to the Phi Pi Chapter. Counselors, as employees of Chamberlain University, work with this sensitive information. The Phi Pi Chapter of Sigma and Chamberlain University upholds the highest levels of integrity when handling any student or facility information. All information is strictly confidential and used only for invitation into the only honor society of nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International.
Sigma Theta Tau International was founded in 1922 by six nursing students. The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) has more than 100,000 active members and 600 chapters at higher education institutions, as well as healthcare partners from Armenia, Australia, and Botswana to Thailand, the United States, and Wales. Sigma members include clinical nurses and administrators, academic nurse educators and researchers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and others working to fulfill the organization’s vision of connected, empowered nurse leaders transforming global healthcare. As a Sigma member, you are connected and engaged with nurses worldwide. With globalization and advances in transportation and technology, our big world feels smaller --as we have real-time communication, quicker travel, and connected markets and economies. Nurses are called to serve locally, nationally, and internationally, and Sigma membership serves this calling.
In addition to counselor positions, other board positions open are the President-Elect, Vice President, and Treasurer. Committee leaders are elected for Leadership Succession and Governance. All positions are valuable to the functioning of the Phi Pi Chapter of Sigma. Watch for more information on this, and to complete your 'consent to serve,' click here
We host an international” service project for Founders' Day in October each year. Our chapter members donate to “water.org” as
water connects every aspect of life. Access to safe water and sanitation can quickly turn problems into potential – unlocking education, work opportunities, and improved health for women, children, and families worldwide. Please consider donating; our service project has been extended until March 5, 2025. Click Here
One initiative for 2025 is to support our members who are PhD or DNP candidates and PhD or DNP grads in disseminating their projects. We will host quarterly Zoom calls for members to do so. If you are interested in participating in this initiative, please email admin@phipi.org. Our goal is to plan for these presentations by March 2025.
