The Beta Iota Chapter celebrates 2024 Founders' Day on October 1 at the Cincinnati Graduate Hotel from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.  The evening includes a delicious dinner, connecting with colleagues and friends, recognition of Excellence in Nursing Award recipients, the first-year experience of the 2023 Chapter Leadership Intern, a walk down memory lane, and special speaker, Dr. Kate York presenting, Nursing through a Global Lens:  Advancing Cross-Cultural Nursing.  Cost is $35 for Beta Iota members, $45 for non-members, and $25 for students.  Application has been submitted for continuing education contact hours for nurses.  Please contact Beta Iota Chapter at reiglebs@uc.edu to obtain information regarding approval status.  Registration at 

CONGRATULATIONS to Drs. Gordon Gillespie and Tami Bakas on being elected to the Beta Iota Chapter Leadership Succession Committee (LSC).  They begin their term of office July 1, 2024.

CONGRATULATIONS to Madison Daudet on being elected on the Beta Iota Chapter Board of Directors as Counselor and Governance Committee Chair.  She will begin her term of office July 1, 2024.

A huge THANK YOU to Dr. Rebecca (Becky) Lee for her excellent work as Counselor for the past two years.  She will complete her term of office June 30, 2024.

The newly revised Beta Iota Link Newsletter is published every other month with new features such as 'THE BOARD SPEAKS", "CHAPTER, REGIONAL, INTERNATIONAL NEWS", "RESEARCH CAMEO" and a new quarterly feature, "HISTORY SPEAKS".  Stay up-to-date with chapter activities/events/BOD decisions.

The Beta Iota Chapter BOD, Committee, and Advisory Council Chairs and their members will meet July 19 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing, Dean's Conference Room -414.  The purpose is to: (a) transition the responsibilities of chapter leaders who have completed terms of office to chapter leaders who are beginning their new term of office, (b) orient and update officer/committee/advisory council chairs to Sigma and chapter governance, (c) review the strategic plan and chapter key award,(d) plan events, activities, collaborations, and service projects for the year 2025, and (e) enjoy connecting with each other.

The Beta Iota Chapter will increase annual membership dues and new member dues by $5.00 effective July 1, 2024.  Thus, annual chapter renewal dues will be a total of $35. This amount plus the international annual membership renewal dues of $80.00 equal a total annual renewal membership fee of $115.00. The chapter has not had a dues increase since 2008.  Annual membership renewal dues are the primary income for the chapter.  The Beta Iota Board of Directors based on a recommendation from the Beta Iota Finance Advisory Council approved the increase in order to support the chapter activities, events, and initiatives important to the membership.
