Welcome to your chapter's website!

We are so pleased to have you all join Sigma Xi Phi and be part of the local and global nursing picture.  Our chapter was chartered on April 24, 1994.  We have provided over 25 years of nursing care and involvement to our community.

Xi Phi's Mission:  To foster the continuing growth of student and professional nurses through continuing education, mentorship, community involvement, and scholarship.

Xi Phi's Values:
1- community service
2- lifelong/continuing education
3- leadership
4- mentorship/networking
5- recognition/scholarship

So how will we accomplish our mission?  With the help and input from you!  We have monthly meetings on the 3rd Thursday of every month where we discuss upcoming events, initiatives that you, the members, want to see, and learn about unique aspects of nursing.

We look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events!  Please frequently check out our events here or on our Facebook page for more information.  Additionally, add us on Twitter and LinkedIn for updates on nursing issues from around the country and world.

Chapter News

  • Back To School Greeting

  • TESSA Holiday Tree

A very special thanks to everyone who gave from their hearts this year to support TESSA's Holiday Shoppe which helps more than 100 families annually, providing the opportunity for adults and children to exchange gifts during the holiday season as they work with TESSA to build lives of safety and self-sufficiency.
This year we had a plethora of gifts under the tree and donations of $280.00 in gift cards to local grocery stores, Target, movie theaters and more.
Your kindness is greatly appreciated during this holiday season.
    With love, courage, and honor.

  • TESSA Holiday Tree

Each year, our chapter participates in the TESSA Holiday Shoppe by collecting gift cards for essential items.  Please stop by University Hall on UCCS campus and select a donation envelop for the holiday tree.  Please purchase the gift card, put your name on the tag, and drop off your donation to the administration office in University Hall by December 13th.  These gift cards will help support one of the more than 100 families that TESSA provides services for.  You may also drop off additional gifts and place them under the holiday tree by December 5th.

Needed gift cards:  Target, Walmart, GameStop, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Independent Records, King Soopers, Safeway.

Suggested gift donations:  please follow this link for more information on needed items.  https://www.tessacs.org/holiday-shoppe/

Thank you in advance for your support.  If you have additional questions please contact a Xi Phi chapter leader directly or email us at SigmaXiPhi355@gmail.com
  • Sigma Xi Phi End-of-Year BBQ

What a great time we had at the John Metcalfe Park Pavilion on Saturday for our end of the year BBQ.  Special thanks to our Grand-Master Chef Ozaki for his culinary skills in grilling our burgers and hotdogs.  Also, special thanks to our Block Tower Game winner, Sarah Elliott, RN-BSN, Xi Phi Chapter treasurer; and to Joanna Chism, RN-BSN Xi Phi Chapter Vice-President who provided us with the Block Tower Game in which she used as a Ice-Breaker in which we answered a question associated with the block number we disassembled from the tower. It was a fun day filled with great friends, colleagues, and family members including 4 legged pups.  Thank you all for attending.
