Chapter News

  • New member orientation

    New inductees joined members for an orientation session to Sigma on November 4, 2025.  Inductees learned how to navigate the Sigma website and access the Circle.  Then they participated in a blood pressure technique educational session from the American Heart Association. They joined the hybrid membership meeting that discussed issues coming up at the Biennium. They showed their creative side with the final activity of crafting decorations for the Festival of Trees outreach project.

  • 2025 Bayhealth Nursing Research and EBP Conference

    Bayhealth’s Nursing Research & Evidence-Based Practice Council presents the 2025 Nursing Research & Evidence-Based Practice Conference.

    Friday, Nov. 21, 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
    Bayhealth Blue Hen Conference Room
    665 Bay Road, Unit A, Dover, DE
    AND virtually via WebEx 

    The conference is free for all Bayhealth team members and all nursing students. The fee for outside Bayhealth attendees is $40.

    4 CE hours will be awarded for attendance

    Keynote speaker will be nationally acclaimed, Dr. Barbara Quinn, CNS and author of multiple publications on Non-Ventilator Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia prevention.

    Registration is required and team members should register through HealthStream. Nursing students and outside attendees can register at Bayhealth.org/Research-Conference. You can also find the full conference agenda on this page. 

    The registration deadline is Nov. 14.

  • First Aid Kits

    Tau Beta members prepared the classroom first aid kits for the June 16 - 20, 2025 Vacation Bible School at a local church.  Members updated, replaced supplies and obtained first aid posters.

     
  • Walk for Water

    Tau Beta members did the 5K Walk for Water on April 26. The walk supports the mission of Lifetime Wells International to improve the quality of life in the developing world by engaging with and empowering local partners to design, install, and maintain safe and reliable drinking water systems.

    Since 2004, over 3,300 water wells have been provided to communities in Ghana and Tanzania!  For more information go to https://www.lifetimewellsinternational.org/

  • Outreach Program to High School Students

    On April 9, 2025Tau Beta Members and nursing students engaged with students at the local high school who are SCRUBS club members that are interested in pursuing a career in nursing and other health related professions.

    Participants rotated through a variety of stations that highlighted various skills used by a nurse especially focusing on the need for SCIENCE and MATH.

  • Cleaning Kits Service Project

    Members gathered supplies for cleaning kits that are being distributed to areas in the U.S. that have been devastated by fires and floods.

  • Spring Conference 2025

    Tau Beta Chapter hosted a curated conference titled Age-Friendly Health Care.

    The event began with a slide presentation titled Why join a professional nursing organization -SIGMA?

    Advance practice nurses presented evidence based practice on the Impact of Age-Friendly and Dementia Friendly Care. 

    The Delaware Division of Health and Social Services presented on the Opioid Crisis and Response.

    An APRN CNS presented on Innovations to decrease C-diff infection.
