Dr. Marion Lynch, Vice President

Founder and CEO of Art of Nursing Community Interest Company, set up to keep the human in non-human systems, and use the arts to do this. With more than 40 years of experience in nursing and public health, expertise in the arts in health, and international work and leadership posts, I bring both philosophical and practical skills to my nursing work. Whether this is my research work through the evaluation of nurse workforce innovations, my academic work through nurse education, or my art work of building art and exhibitions show how to keep care human, I make the invisible aspects of nursing visible. I continue to be a Visiting Professor at the University of West London, and am honoured to have received the British Empire Medal from the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office for my work with women and children in Africa.

Dr Janet Scammell DNSci., PFHEA, MSc., BA., PGDip NEd., RN (retired), SCM. Visiting Fellow, Bournemouth University, Vice President

I feel honoured to be asked to serve as a Vice-President for our Chapter. My career attests to a passion for nursing excellence through scholarship, leadership and research. I have experience at various organisational levels in the NHS and the university sectors. I recently retired having enjoyed a career as a clinical practitioner, educator, manager and nurse researcher. Through Sigma, I have connected with nurses nationally and internationally, undertaken research and leadership activities resulting in publications and presentations, as well as gained insight into differing nursing cultures and practices. I joined Sigma in 2011 when the Chapter was first Chartered in England. I have served on the Chapter Board in various officer and committee positions, including as President (2016-2019). Currently my Board role includes leading our Chapter submission for the international Chapter Key Award and with colleagues coordinating international chapter collaborative activities.
