  • Save the Date! NNO is coming!

  • Save the Date

    • Hello Nurses- members and NNO participants;
      We have been vigorously planning our next get together to be in person, only to be waylaid by COVID again.
      We appreciate your patience in this. The board feels strongly about waiting till we are able gather safely face to face with an anticipated date of 10/23/21, current discussion is for a midday outdoor venue. Definite date, time and place to be determined. Please save that date!
      At that time we will announce our scholarship and award winners, welcome our new members and announce the new board of directors. Plus a brief uplifting program, Celebrating Nurses!
      So stay tuned! We will keep you posted!

This is a fun way to stay in touch with colleagues and help with the activities in our chapter. Being on the Board of Directors can help advance your career and build your professional resume.  Volunteering with the Honor Society boosts your public profile and serving on a board of directors gets your name out in the public demonstrating leadership ability and community volunteer service. The vice president shall perform the duties of the president in the president's absence. The vice president, or designee, shall oversee the planning of at least two chapter programs/events annually. The treasurer shall be the custodian of the funds of this chapter. The treasurer shall propose a budget to the board. A counselor shall oversee Nurse Leader inductions and who are not required to be faculty. The Director is an active participant on the Board of Directors and helps with planning and carrying out of the organization’s activities.

    Additionally there are opportunities to serve on committees that meet around a specific activity such as leadership succession and nominations. The Leadership Succession Committee shall develop members in organizational leadership roles across the span of their careers, and mentor members to assume organizational board and officer positions at all levels of the organization. The committee shall select nominees and prepare the ballot. The ballot will be sent to the Board of Directors several weeks prior to a scheduled election.

    The Governance Committee shall oversee bylaws compliance, make recommendations for bylaws changes, and oversee member and chapter eligibility issues.

    We are looking forward to having you join us in the 2021-2023 term! Please let me, Janis Polos, or any board member know by June 1,2021 of your interest.
