I hope all are enjoying the cooler weather. It’s Gumbo time!
Update on chapter events:
The chapter, along with LC student nurses participated in the Making Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Event. We had 40 walkers. The chapter sponsored the kids' table and entered two entries in the Black pot cook-off. A special thanks to Judy Gremillion and family for cooking. The gumbo was GREAT, as was the Jambalaya! Fundraising is still ongoing, but I think we will hit the $1200 mark. Thanks to all who supported.
Other news: The chapter voted in Spring to assist LC’s Student Success Center by making a quarterly donation of $100 over a year. Our first donation was made in May 2019. We are due to make the second donation. The center assists nursing students in their academic careers. Currently, senior nursing students are offering to tutor junior students who are enrolled in physical assessment and fundamentals. Free tutoring for nursing courses! Wow! Nu Tau’s donations help fund snacks & drinks. To keep our future nurses fueled and awake 😊 Do you remember those days?
Please join us for new member induction. October 17th at 5 pm in Bolton Chapel at L.C. A short business meeting will follow. Help welcome the new members into our Honor Society!
Marilyn Cooksey (president) and Stacy Mayeux (vice-president) will be attending the Biennial Sigma convention in Washington, D.C. Updates to follow.
Thanks for all your support,
