Kappa Zeta at-Large Chapter Awards:
SPRING 2025 STUDENT & PRECEPTOR AWARDS
Nominations may be submitted at any time up to a deadline of April 5th. Recipients are announced each spring, prior to the spring chapter celebration (2025 date TBA); recipients are invited to attend the event as chapter guests to be recognized.
$250 Student Capstone Project Scholarship (open to ANY senior nursing student [prelicensure] from SJC, USM, UNE, or MMC - NON members can apply)
This scholarship is designed to recognize exemplary undergraduate senior capstone projects that typically focus on leadership and/or evidence-based practice. Capstone projects may be in the form of an oral or poster presentation or scholarly paper, depending on the nursing program requirements. Capstone projects must be completed or near completion (submission for grading within 6 weeks) to be considered.
$150 Essentials of Nursing Scholarship (open to ANY prelicensure nursing student from SJC, USM, UNE, and MMC - NON members can apply)
$250 Preceptor Awards
Two awards will be given annually, one for a preceptor of pre-licensure students during an academic internship or preceptorship, and one for a preceptor of novice nurses, defined as a new graduate (an RN with less than one year nursing practice experience) or as a nurse transitioning into a new specialty. Nominations will be accepted from nursing students and novice nurses from any school or practice setting.
ROLLING APPLICATION AWARDS
$500 Patricia Geary Academic Scholarship
For Master's or Doctoral nursing students.
Submit a 500-word essay explaining why scholarship is requested.
$1000 Holley Gimpel Research / Evidence-Based Practice / Quality Improvement Grant
For Principal Investigators or those having a substantive role on the project.
Submit an abstract and proposal.
$500 Evidence Based Practice Grant
For practicing nurses who have completed an Evidence-Based Practice or Quality Improvement project.
Submit a paper describing the project and your experience implementing the change.
