Announcing the New Board Members of Sigma Theta Tau International

As Convention draws to a close, I wanted to inform all of our members of Iota Tau the changes that were voted upon during the conference. Yesterday, we voted for Sigma Theta Tau International’s new board and completed the installation today on November 20th, 2019. We are happy to announce the following will be serving as our board, several of whom are a part of our region, Region 3: 

President: Richard Ricciardi
President-Elect: Kenneth Dion
Vice President: Karen Gorton (Region 3)
Treasurer: Jose Alejandro
Directors-at-Large: Janice Agazio, Cynthia Diefenbeck, and Sara Horton-Deutsch

Governance Committee:
  • Two-year term: Trina Embrey, Amanda Veesart, and Elizabeth Weathers
  • Four-year term: Rita Munley Gallagher, and Steven Palazzo
Leadership Succession Committee:
  • Two-year term: Pauline Anderson-Johnson, Diana-Lyn Baptiste, Teresa Hultquist, and Beverly Reigle
  • Four-year term: Monina Hernandez, Peggy Jenkins (Region 3) and Elizabeth Rosser

Past Events

45th Annual Sigma Theta Tau Internation Biennium Convention 2019
We are excited to announce Chelsea Boettner and Chelsea Waltz will be attending Sigma's Biennium this November to represent our chapter.


This year, the Biennium Convention is being hosted in Washington DC and will be attended by more than 2,000 Sigma members and global leaders in nursing.

Chelsea Waltz will be presenting her research poster at Biennium: Impact of reflective practice within a nurse residency program on nurse satisfaction, support, stress and retention rates. She defended her thesis earlier this year and obtained her DNP. Joining Chelsea is over 800 other oral and poster presentions. 

Iota Tau is excited to have these two representing our chapter at Convention.

This event has been approved for 5.75 FREE CE’s.

Lunch may be purchased for $10.
Those with meal plans for Harper cafeteria do not need to pay.

Strategic Planning Retreat
We would like to thank everyone who joined us on January 4th at the Highlander for our first strategy retreat! Lots of great ideas were discussed. We are very excited to start implementing several of these ideas to build Iota Tau into a chapter for YOU!

New Inductee Fall 2019 Meeting

Please join us for Iota Tau's Induction on Monday, September 30th as we welcome our newest members to Sigma Theta Tau! The ceremony will start at 5:30 pm followed by a reception with light refreshments.

The new members were welcomed to join Sigma Theta Tau after achieving high academic honors in their classes. Inductees include persons from the undergraduate and graduate levels. Congratulations to all of the new members on their hard work and we applaud them on their dedication to academics and research.

New Board Member Spring 2019 Meeting

Please join us on May 13th, 2019 as we induct the new members of our board at our monthly chapter meeting.

Iota Tau’s Board Member Voting

Voting ballots will be sent out on May 2nd at Iota Tau's 30th Annual Research Day. Ballots will be available on The Circle through an e-mail sent to all Iota Tau members.
