  • Održan 6. Međunarodni kongres HNSS u suorganizaciji AAG ogranka

    6. Međunarodni kongres Hrvatskog nacionalnog saveza sestrinstva (HNSS) održan je od 14. - 16.11.2024. u Vodicama, u suorganizaciji ogranka Alpha Alpha Gamma - Sigma Theta Tau International. Okupljene je tom prilikom pozdravio predsjednik ogranka Boris Ilić, zahvalio HNSS na pozivu i na dugogodišnjoj uspješnoj suradnji te zaželio sudionicima uspješan rad na skupu. Čestitamo i svim sudionicima našeg ogranka na iznimnim zapaženim predavanjima, diskusijama u okviru okruglih stolova te aktivnom sudjelovanju: Biljana Filipović, Saša Balija, Sandro Vidmanić, Sandra Karabatić, Katarina Husarek, Valentino Loborec, Vesna Konjevoda, Damir Važanić, Kristian Civka i drugi...  Posebno se zahvaljujemo Sigma European Region koordinatorici, dr. Marie-Louise Luiking koja nam se ove godine pridružila kao pozvani predavač, kao i Adrianu Friganoviću i ostatku tima na odličnoj organizaciji.
  • New board members elected for 2022-2024

    ZAGREB/CROATIA – New board members for the Croatian Alpha Alpha Gamma chapter of the international nursing organization Sigma, were elected at the regular session of the Assembly, held on April 13, 2022. The trust for the new mandate was given to Snježana Čukljek, PhD for the position of president; Boris Ilić, MSN, RN, PhD candidate for the position of vice president, Biljana Kurtović, PhD for the position of secretary and Ana Marija Hošnjak, MSN, RN, PhD candidate for the position of treasurer. In their speech, new board members thanked the current Vice President, Štefanija Ozimec Vulinec, prof. on a successful, persistent and enduring work on the establishment of the first Croatian chapter of Sigma as well as its current members on the continuous contribution to the development and recognition of nursing excellence and profession. On that occasion, the induction of new members for June 2022 was announced, as well as new lectures that will be held as part of the continuing education during 2022.
  • AAG Chapter welcomed its newest members and held a CPD lecture titled 'Small Stories on Big Science'

    ZAGREB, CROATIA – A new continuous professional development lecture, organized by the Croatian Alpha Alpha Gamma Chapter, was held on November 25, 2021 via the Zoom platform. Lecture titled ‘Small Stories on Big Science’ was given by Iva Takšić, prof. psych. from the University of Applied Health Sciences. During the lecture, the importance of scientific research, publishing new discoveries and their integration into everyday practice was emphasized. "In order to improve the nursing profession, it is crucial to critically review the available information when making decisions and acquiring new knowledge and skills. Because of all the above, it is important to understand science and constantly strive for new knowledge", said Takšić. As a part of the event, an induction ceremony of new chapter members was held prior to the lecture. Chapter president, doc.dr.sc. Snježana Čukljek, accepted four new members: the head nurse of the Department for Quality Assurance and Improvement of KBC Zagreb, Slađana Režić, MSc; senior nursing lecturer at Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences, Đurđica Grabovac, MSN; head nurse of KBC Zagreb, Ana Ljubas, MSc, head nurse of the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolic Diseases and Clinical Pharmacology KB Dubrava, Sanja Piškor, MSN and the head nurse of the Home for the Elderly "House of St. Francis“, Ankica Akrap, MSN.
  • Aromatherapy in Palliative Care – latest in a series of CPD lectures

    ZAGREB, CROATIA – First Croatian Sigma chapter, Alpha Alpha Gamma, established in May 2020 at the University of Applied Health Sciences, held its latest in a series of virtual CPD events for its members, on June 6th, 2021. Lecture on Aromatherapy in Palliative Care was given by Zrinka Jezdić, MSN, RN; a 20-year veteran nurse in the field of clinical aromatherapy and founder of AromaVita, a Croatian aromatherapy institute. “Clinical aromatherapy is a well-known and recognized profession, successfully integrated within holistic approach in healthcare systems globally; that requires years of specific and continuous education”, said Jezdić and reminded of empirically established beneficial effects that aromatherapy has for palliative patients, when dealing with insomnia, pain management, anxiety, depression and other. In a discussion that developed afterwards, it was concluded that there is still room for further progress in integrating aromatherapy in clinical environment as well as educating patients on its benefits and use in everyday life.
  • November Induction Ceremony

    ZAGREB/CROATIA - It was our great pleasure to welcome 11 new members to our Alpha Alpha Gamma chapter, during the induction ceremony held on November, 26th. During the online ceremony held via Zoom platform, inductees were welcomed by AAG Chapter president and University of Applied Health Sciences (UAHS) vice-dean dr. Snjezana Cukljek, Head of Nursing department dr. Jadranka Pavic and Head of Nursing Study Programme dr. Biserka Sedic.
