If you are interested in learning more about Sigma and the Chi Pi Chapter, we invite you to attend our Chi Pi Spring Membership Meeting on Tuesday, May 20th. The informational session about the chapter will begin at 6:45 PM ET, followed by the official membership meeting at 7:00 PM ET. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Alex Hodges as our guest speaker. Dr. Hodges will present on The Climate-Health Connection: Nursing Leadership in a Changing World. If you wish to attend, you may join the meeting using this link. 
 

Chi Pi will have two chapter delegates for the Biennial Convention in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Torica Fuller and Dr. Angie Mitchell will serve as the delegates for the business meeting. The dates of the convention are November 8-12, 2025. The chapter is supporting the registration and travel for both delegates to this event as approved by the board.

In addition, Dr. Charlotte Swint and Dr. Kelsey Kent have been selected to present a podium presentation at the meeting. If you are planning to attend the convention or have had an abstract presented, please let Charlotte know. It would be great for chapter members to get together in Indianapolis!

This year Chi Pi is celebrating 10 years at FNU! We will celebrate later in the year. I wanted to share with you the original chapter charter. We still have charter members that are active in the chapter which is amazing! Stay tuned for ways you can contribute to the celebration!

Please join us in recognizing our new members at our new member induction ceremony on July 9, 2025, at 7 PM. More information to come!

I wanted to let you know that we did not have any applications for the travel grants. The Chi Pi board voted to donate the money that would have been awarded for the travel grants ($1500) to the Leslie County Community Foundation to support relief efforts for the flooding that occurred there recently.

The Chi Pi chapter would like to thank Dr. Lazar for speaking at our first membership meeting for 2025! I hope that you have time to listen to the recording to learn more about her amazing work in global health. 

Also, please stay tuned for information about the research travel grants and graduate nursing scholarships that the chapter will be sponsoring! We were excited to announce these upcoming opportunities at the meeting!
