The Beta Upsilon Chapter was founded in 1976.

    Hello Beta Upsilon Chapter Members,

    It is chapter award nomination time!

    Please consider nominating one or more of our  chapter members for the following awards:

    EXCELLENCE IN MENTORING:

    • Freely shares own resources for the growth and development of individual nurses or groups of nurses  
    • Maintains the mentoring relationship with nurses over time  
    • Participates in the development of nursing leaders and leadership  
    • Actively shapes and promotes the careers of nurses  

    EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH:

    • Conducts distinguished research in nursing and/or healthcare
    • Communicates nursing research findings to a broad audience.
    • Writes scholarly  works relating to nursing theory and/or nursing research
    • Encourages research activities within STTI, nursing and/or the public

    EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION: 

    • Demonstrates breadth of knowledge in an area of clinical nursing practice
    • Develops creative approaches to nursing practice that contribute to quality client care
    • Possesses clinical expertise and attributes of a clinical scholar
    • Advances the scope and practice of nursing
    • Serves as a mentor/preceptor that inspires peer’s practice of nursing
    • Enhances the image of nursing through nursing practice
    • Participates in the development of nursing leaders 

    EXCELLENCE IN PRACTICE:

    • Demonstrates breadth of knowledge in an area of clinical nursing practice
    • Develops creative approaches to nursing practice that contribute to quality client care
    • Possesses clinical expertise and attributes of a clinical scholar
    • Advances the scope and practice of nursing
    • Serves as a mentor/preceptor that inspires peer’s practice of nursing
    • Enhances the image of nursing through nursing practice
    • Participates in the development of nursing leaders

    EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP:

    • Receives local, national, or international recognition as a nursing leader in education, practice, administration, and/or research
    • Influences leadership in nursing through visionary and innovative approaches to leadership
    • Creates an environment that enhances the image of nursing
    • Participates in the development of nursing leaders

    Lihong provided a synopsis of her DNP community project aimed to improve COVID vaccination and education in youth during the Fall induction.  Well done!
