  • Alpha Alpha Sigma Chapter News

    Hello all!

We are preparing for new officers and committee members. We would like YOU to consider what role might you have in elevating our chapter? We need people to serve both as elected officers and as volunteer leaders such as membership ambassador and new member engagement, publicity, newsletter development,  research committee, governance committee, the possibilities are many!

Contact Jean Davison, chair of the Leadership Succession Committee (davison@email.unc.edu) or me, (gwen.sherwood@unc.edu) --we want our chapter to continue its upward mobility! We have an outstanding grants program to kick-start research with funding to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and clinicians.

We are also known for our service to the community. As we approach Sigma's 99th Founders Day, we ask that all members consider how each of us can contribute to our community through food bank donations, outreach to the under-served, mentoring, again the possibilities are endless.

Be an active member of Alpha Alpha and of the international organization as well to develop knowledge, service and leadership.

    Our Vision

Connected, empowered nurse leaders transforming global healthcare

    Our Mission

Developing nurse leaders anywhere to improve healthcare everywhere
All best to you, Gwen Sherwood, President
    Professor Emeritus
