    Expected attendees: Approximately 1,000 students.

    Batches of students from the Jersey City Public Schools will visit each participating booth for 45 minutes each.

    Kappa Eta Chapter of the NJCU Nursing Department would like to invite you to a Lunch and Learn Session on the Rare Disease of Amyloidosis. This disease occurs when the amyloid protein builds up and can affect the heart, kidneys, liver, spleen, nervous system, soft tissue, muscle and digestive tract. There are many different types of amyloidosis in which some occur with other diseases and improve with treatment, yet other types may lead to life-threatening organ failure. Treatments may include chemotherapy or pharmaceuticals that work to reduce amyloid production and manage symptoms.

    Guest Speakers: Dr. Sai Jambunathan (NJCU Faculty)  Mike Lane a patient with ATTR Amyloidosis. and Dr. Pallavi Solanki, Cardiologist.

    Sigma has selected Kappa Eta Chapter as a recipient of the 2023-2025 Chapter Key Award. The Chapter Key Award honors chapters that excel in chapter related activities.  This is recognized by Sigma as an extraordinary accomplishment.   Kappa Eta completed an extensive application for the key award. The award will be presented to the chapter in November at the Biennial Convention.
