Zeta Pi is assisting in hosting an exciting event during multiple days at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.  The IGNITE (Inspiring and Growing Nursing Interests Through Exploration) Program is a program that helps expose participants to the wonderful world of professional nursing by fostering a strong foundation in basic patient care skills, industry certification attainment, professional soft skill development, and resume building while bridging connections with post-secondary learning institutions and healthcare employers. Tentative Time Slots are: Session 1: June 8-12, 2026 Session 2: June 22-26, 2026 Session 3: July 6-10, 2026 Time: 8am-5pm (4h or 8 hr shifts available) If you are interested in establishing your skills in education, wanting to share your passion for nursing, or practice your leadership skills, this would be a great opportunity! Both paid positions and volunteer positions are available. Please join us in welcoming the 16 new members inducted into Zeta Pi during our Spring Induction Ceremony and congratulating the Zeta Pi Research grant award recipients.

UTHealth Cizik School of Nursing is excited to offer the IGNITE Nursing Summer Camps this year. Inspiring Nursing Interests Through Exploration is an immersive pre-nursing engagement experience offered to all rising high school freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. During this dynamic one-week camp, students will obtain five industry-related certifications, receive an individualized action plan and career map, and complete rigorous skills and simulation labs in our state-of-the-art Simulation and Clinical Performance Lab. We have had an overwhelming response from students interested in learning more about professional nursing. Our school nursing student recruiter, Joseph Corona, will complete the Career Mapping, which involves reviewing the student's transcripts and developing a plan for entry into our Pre-Nursing program. We need facilitators who could provide resume-building and interviewing tips and insight regarding soft skills and employment characteristics that employers are looking for when hiring. We have also incorporated a mock job interview into the schedule.   All facilitators will receive instructional materials to review content and responsibilities during the first week of June for Camp 1 and June 30 – July 3 for Camp II.
