Join us for an Engaging and Informative Webinar on Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) in Interprofessional Education (IPE) for Undergraduate Healthcare Students! In recent years, healthcare education across Europe has seen a growing focus on Public and Patient Involvement (PPI), with patients becoming active partners in the learning process for future healthcare professionals. This webinar will explore the transformative potential of integrating PPI into Interprofessional Education (IPE), where students from diverse healthcare disciplines collaborate alongside patients to foster a deeper, patient-centered approach to care. We will highlight innovative educational programs that have successfully incorporated PPI, demonstrating how these initiatives enhance learning outcomes and better prepare students to provide holistic, patient-focused care. During this session, we will delve into the benefits and challenges of implementing PPI-based interprofessional education. While these programs have been shown to improve communication, promote teamwork, and enhance the patient experience, they also present unique logistical, cultural, and institutional challenges. We will provide actionable insights on how to overcome these hurdles and implement effective PPI strategies within educational frameworks. In addition, participants will be introduced to leading global and European organizations at the forefront of PPI and IPE. You will gain practical guidance on the essential steps required to initiate or enhance similar programs at your own institution, empowering you to take a leadership role in promoting patient-centered education. Whether you are an educator, healthcare professional, or student, this webinar will equip you with the tools and knowledge to make a meaningful impact in healthcare education.

Dear Members of the Phi Xi Chapter, It is with great enthusiasm that we reach out to you, dynamic members dedicated to excellence in Nursing, to invite you to contribute to a new initiative of our Chapter. We are pleased to announce the launch of an innovative series of events designed to foster knowledge sharing, promote interaction among Chapter members, and strengthen ties with the scientific, academic, clinical, and civil communities. Event Designation and Format: A diverse series of formats will be considered, including lectures, open classes, short courses (1-2 hours), and intensive courses (2 to 6 hours, spread over several days), all to be held online. Each event will be unique, proposed and organized by you, allowing complete flexibility in choosing the theme, format, date, and time to best fit your schedules and interests. The Chapter will serve as a facilitator, providing a platform to showcase the best work of each of its members. Objective and Alignment with the SDGs: The goal of this initiative is to create an open space for discussion and knowledge sharing in the areas of clinical practice, research, pedagogy, and innovation, with the aim of contributing to sustainable development. Each event should align with at least one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), demonstrating our commitment to sustainable and responsible practices in the field of Nursing. Programmatic Organization: When submitting your proposals, we ask that you clearly define the methodology of the events, as well as the objectives to be achieved. Language and Participation: Presentations can be conducted in either Portuguese or English, opening the doors not only to our members but also to the global community. While proposals should be initiated by members of our Chapter, we encourage collaboration with experts outside the Chapter, ensuring that at least one of the proposers is a member. Moderators and Experts: Depending on the topic, experts from within our Chapter may be invited to moderate the events, ensuring enriching and in-depth discussions. Proposers are encouraged to suggest moderators for their events. Certification: Participation in the events will be certified by the Phi Xi Chapter - Sigma, in recognition of your contribution to advancing knowledge in Nursing. We invite you to submit your event proposals by filling out this form by December 31, 2024. This is an exciting moment for our Phi Xi Chapter, and your participation is essential to its success. Together, we can create a significant impact in our community and beyond by sharing knowledge that enlightens, inspires, and transforms.
