This weekend August 18/19th (Friday 5-8 pm and Saturday 8 - 1230 pm) is the NNA/NNF Margaret Curley Rural Symposium. Cost for NNA members is $30 for 7CE's Non-NNA members - $60 for 7 CE's It's a steal for this price and all the presenters are scholarship recipients and giving back to their community to raise money for nursing scholarships in the State of Nevada. Dear Zeta Kappa At-Large Members,      The call for nominations for Zeta Kappa At-Large Chapter Officers is now open. The length of the term of all officers is two years.   Term: July 1, 2023—June 30, 2025     Please send your nomination with a link to his/her bio page to the co-chair of the Leadership Succession Committee – Hyunhwa “Henna” Lee (hyunhwa.lee@unlv.edu) or Ludy Llasus (Ludy.Llasus@nsc.edu) by March 10, 2023. Election ballot is usually linked to your bio page, so please make sure your webpage is up-to-date.      We are looking for:    1. President Elect  The President Elect shall be mentored by the current chapter president; prepare to succeed into the presidency at the end of a term of office; learn the chapter operations and facilitate the achievement of chapter goals and mission of Sigma; serve on the chapter’s board of directors; develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the position of president-elect; and submit modifications or new policies and procedures to the Board of Directors for approval.     2. Vice-President from NSC The Vice-President shall perform the duties of the president in the president's absence; prepare an annual report to the chapter membership regarding the vice-president's responsibilities and activities; develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the position of vice president; and lead membership benefit efforts, including overseeing the planning of chapter programs ensuring that at least two programs or events that support the honor society's purposes and goals are held each year.   There is one vacant for NSC Vice-President; therefore, the candidate for this position must be faculty at the NSC School of Nursing. 3. Treasurer The Treasurer shall be the custodian of the funds of this chapter and may be bonded in an amount equal to three-fourths of the worth of the chapter. The Treasurer shall propose a budget to the board. The President and Treasurer are responsible for submitting required chapter reports to Sigma headquarters.        4. One Leadership Succession Committee Member from UNLV The Leadership Succession Committee shall develop members in organizational leadership roles across the span of their careers, and mentor members to assume organizational board and officer positions at all levels of the organization.
