    Hi everyone,

I am a nurse executive, a nurse researcher, and currently a 2026 Johns Hopkins School of Nursing Institute for Policy Solutions N-SISS (Nurse Scientist Incubator for Social Determinants of Health Solutions) Fellow. My research agenda seeks to eliminate health inequity for youth who identify as LGBTQ+. We have learned that youth who identify as LGBTQ+ and need emergency care for suicidality, do not feel psychologically safe. As a result, we have completing a scenario-based learning curriculum for emergency and acute care nursing staff, aimed to improve culturally congruent care through training. Subsequently, we modified the intervention and made the evidence-based curriculum available to school based health suite staff. I have been a Director of Nursing (ED, Critical Care, Sedation, Radiology, Vascular Access) in pediatric healthcare settings for the last 15 years.

I am eager to learn more from everyone in this group. Thank you for the opportunity to join.
