Hello everyone!
My name is Jorge, and I'm delighted to join the LGBTQ+ Health Community as a Community Facilitator.
I completed my BSc in Nursing in the UK in January and will be starting a Master of Clinical Research (MClinRes) in September. As I've transitioned from student to registered nurse, I've become increasingly interested in nursing education, professional development, and creating more inclusive healthcare environments for all patients.
As I get to know the community, I'd love to hear about your experiences.
Thinking back to your education, training, or the early years of your career:
🏳️🌈 How well do you feel you were prepared to care for LGBTQ+ patients?
Were LGBTQ+ health topics meaningfully integrated into your education, clinical training, or workplace orientation? Is there anything you wish had been covered in more depth?
Whether you're a student, clinician, educator, researcher, or leader, I'd be interested in hearing what helped you feel confident in providing inclusive care, and what opportunities for improvement you still see today.
Looking forward to learning from your experiences and getting to know everyone in the community!
