Applications are open for Beta Nu scholarships, grants, and awards!

The following scholarships and grants are available:

• 1 Graduate Nursing Scholarship ($500)
• 1 Undergraduate Nursing Scholarship ($500)
• 1 Travel Grant (up to $1000)
• 2 Research Grants (up to $1000 each)

Please see the attachment for the application requirements for each. You must be a current member of Beta Nu to apply.

• Outstanding Mentor
• Excellence in Education

• Excellence in Leadership
• Jane Boardman Friend Friend of Nursing (recipient does not have to be a Beta Nu member)

You must be a current member of Beta Nu to nominate another Beta Nu member for these awards.

The Beta Nu Spring Banquet will be held on Thursday, April 17th at 5:30 PM at the ECU College of Nursing. Dr. Katherine Dunning will share her presentation, "Empowering Nurses with AI: Bridging Knowledge and Practice". 

Silent auction bidding and the presentation of the 2024-2025 Beta Nu Awards and Scholarships are also part of the event.

Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Cost: $30/ticket ($20 for students)

The window for submitting Rising Star nominations to Sigma for the 2025 Biennium opened today, January 15, 2025, and Beta Nu would like to know who you recommend! This is an opportunity for nursing students to present their scholarly work. Nominations are open to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students who meet the following criteria:

• Be currently enrolled at the time of nomination, although they do not need to remain enrolled by the time of the event. Recently graduated students (within the past six months) are also eligible.
• Receive a nomination from a school representative, who may apply additional selection criteria determined by the school. Nominated students are automatically accepted as poster presenters for the event.
• Register and pay to attend and participate in the event. Discounted rates are available for students, though no further discounts or financial assistance for travel expenses can be provided by Sigma.

Recommendations for Rising Star nomination must be submitted for consideration to this link by February 1, 2025. Financial assistance may be available. More information about Rising Stars and the 48th Biennial Sigma Convention can be found here.
