Speaker Bio: Jana French, BSN ’05
Jana was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. A West Coaster until 2005, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. With a desire to have an adventure on the East Coast, she took her new nursing license and began her career in an Emergency Department in Washington D.C.
In 2008, Jana began training to be a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and became nationally certified in 2010. In 2012, Jana worked with others to establish a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the District of Columbia Forensic Nurse Examiners (DCFNE). To this day, DCFNE continues to set the standard of excellence for Forensic Nursing care for victims of violence. Jana completed a Master of Science in Forensic Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in August 2014. In 2017, Jana received the Virginia Lynch award, the highest honor from the International Association of Forensic Nurses for her contribution to the field of Forensic Nursing.
Currently, Jana is an independent forensic nursing consultant; she spends much of her time consulting on program development and continuing education. Jana lives with her husband and two sons in Saginaw, Michigan. Her hobbies include chasing the illusion of work-life balance and amateur straw bale gardening.

Azusa Pacific University is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 2272. Attendees will earn 1 continuing education (CE) hour. CE credit will be awarded to those who attest to attendance at the session and complete the electronic evaluation after the session.
