    Description:

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a common neuro-immunological disorder affecting millions of individuals in the US. However, MS often presents differently case-by-case in clinical and hospital settings. Although there are basics to understanding MS, it would be an oxymoron to identify this chronic condition as anything "basic" given the dynamic, disabling symptoms associated with the condition. This educational seminar will empower you to have a greater understanding of a) the pathology of MS, b) the variety of clinical presentations seen in someone with MS, and c) how persons with MS can benefit from appropriate disease-modifying therapy options.

    Alumni Presenter:

Lynsey Lakin is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Chief Executive Officer of My Strength Well Program in Rancho Cucamonga, California. She also works at The Neurology Group in Rancho Cucamonga, California, where she directs a multiple sclerosis clinic and provides preceptor training for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. She is also an adjunct faculty in the master of science in nursing program at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California. Ms. Lakin received her masters of science in nursing from Azusa Pacific University, became certified as a family nurse practitioner, and then completed a fellowship in multiple sclerosis from the University of California, Riverside. Ms. Lakin has participated in national academic conferences including service as the current Co-Chair of the Education Committee for the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers and International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses. She received the “Live Wise Award” from the virtual 2020 Annual Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers.
