Hello Tau Upsilon members,
A quick What's Up Wednesday today here to remind everyone to submit their nomination packages for awards. Consider applying yourself, nominating a student, a colleague or a friend of nursing for one of the several monetary or recognition awards!
The deadline for nominations is March 1st, 2023. All awards will be presented at our Induction Ceremony on April 22nd, 2023. Attendance at our Induction Ceremony is encouraged for all award recipients.
To briefly summarize the awards:
- Anna Gupta Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award
- An award to recognize an undergraduate student who exemplifies nursing excellence, of a monetary value of $150. Eligibility is limited to students who are or will be chapter members at time of award recipience with a minimum 'A' average GPA.
- Jessica Girard Outstanding Undergraduate Leadership Award
- An award to recognize an undergraduate student who exemplifies nursing excellence, of a monetary value of $150. Eligibility is limited to students who are or will be chapter members at time of award recipience.
- Sheila Cameron Outstanding Graduate Student Award
- An award to recognize a graduate student who exemplifies nursing excellence, of a monetary value of $200. Eligibility is limited to current chapter members who have paid all required membership dues within the last 12 months.
- Outstanding Nurse Clinician/Community Leader Award
- An award to recognize an outstanding nurse from a clinical setting (broadly defined as a practicing nurse) who exemplifies nursing excellence and service to the profession. This award has no monetary value and is for recognition. Eligibility is limited to current chapter members who have paid all required membership dues within the last 12 months.
- Founders Research Support Grant
- An award to provide a grant to support a nursing-related research project, of a monetary value of $250. Eligibility is limited to current chapter members who have paid all required membership dues within the last 12 months and hold a teaching/clinical nursing post.
- Friend of Nursing Award
- An award to recognize an individual or a group who has made contributions to the betterment of their local nursing and or healthcare communities. This award has no monetary value and is for recognition. Eligibility is limited to those who are not an RN, RPN, or RN-EC/NP.
- Student Intern Award
- An award to help offset the cost of the induction fees. This award has a monetary value of $150. To be eligible, recipients will be accepted into the committee to serve a 1-year term and thus, eligibility is limited to only those who are enrolled for the BScN, MN, MScN, NP, or PhD program for the current school year
