The Nursing section of the Department of Health Sciences of the University of Genoa -Prof Annamaria Bagnasco - and the Italian Chapter of SIGMA, Alpha Alpha Beta, -Prof Loredana Sasso-have launched an observational study on: "The episodes of violence directed to Italian nurses in the workplace "The study was co-funded by the National Federation of regulatory boards for nurses – FNOPI
the members of the scientific board are Prof. Annamaria Bagnasco, Prof Loredana Sasso, Dr Milko Zanini, Dr Gianluca Catania from University of Genova (IT) and Prof Mark Hayter and Prof Roger Watson from University of Hull (UK).
Seven other university centers have joined the study and in particular: Prof. Rosaria Alvaro of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Prof. Giancarlo Cicolini of the University of Bari, Prof. Alberto Dal Molin of the University of Studies of Eastern Piedmont, Prof. Loreto Lancia of the University of L'Aquila, Prof. Maura Lusignani of the University of Milan, Prof. Daniela Mecugni of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Prof.ssa Luisa Saiani of the University of Verona, Prof Paolo Motta University of Brescia. In addition to the description of the prevalence of the phenomenon in Italy, the objectives will identify the predictive factors and assess the impact of the episodes of violence on the availability and usability of health services to users.
