Let me introduce you to Gayla Eppinger, DNP, MN, APRN, NNP-BC, C-NPT, C-ONQS, C-NNIC. Dr. Eppinger is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in the department of Neonatology at UT Southwestern Health System. Dr. Eppinger earned her DNP at UTMB in April of 2021, an MN in Neonatal-Perinatal Nursing from Emory University in December of 1994, and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Gordon College in June of 1990. Dr. Eppinger's areas of nursing interest include neonatal nursing, role transition, evidence based-medicine, and quality improvement. Dr. Eppinger's Scholarly Practice Project involved the implementation of a standardized guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of ventilator-associated pneumonia in neonates.
- How long have you been a member of Sigma International (formerly STTI)? Joined in the Spring semester of 2020
- Why did you decide to join Sigma? I value being a part of an organization of like-minded individuals who are focused on promoting nursing scholarship and leadership which in the end makes for improved patient care.
- How has being a member of the Alpha Delta Chapter of Sigma benefitted you professionally? I'm pleased to say that recognition of my achievements has been augmented by being a member of Sigma. I am sure more benefits will follow.
- What is your advice to other Alpha Delta Chapter members who might be considering becoming more involved in the Chapter? Networking within and outside of the organization will help advance any work you are involved in - you have nothing to lose by helping others.
