Ruth A. Sathre, RN, MSN, CEN, CCM is currently a service coordinator for a MCO that manages a Medicaid program for children with chronic illnesses, currently focusing on those with intellectual disabilities. Ms. Sathre graduated from Texas Woman’s University with her BSN in 1989 and Walden University in 2011 with her MSN focusing on management and leadership. She comes from a medical family and her first position in the field was as a CNA in high school. She became a member of STTI in 2006 after being nominated for her community leadership. The election to STTI gave her confidence in pursuing her MSN as well as certifications in emergency nursing, children’s emergency nursing and case management. Her professional work has been around children, in outpatient and inpatient settings and her professional home is the emergency department. Ms. Sathre's advice to others about becoming involved is offer whatever you can, whenever you can.
