Beta Nu Chapter

The Beta Nu Chapter of Sigma is now accepting donations for our Annual Silent Auction, and we would love your support!

What can you donate?

We welcome a wide variety of items—get creative! Popular donations include:

• Handmade items

• Experiences or services

• Artwork or memorabilia

• Themed baskets

• Children’s items
  …and more!

When to donate:

Please submit donations by March 27th.

How to donate:

• Drop off items with Gina in CON 3164, or with Tricia or Nancy in CON 3185

• Electronic donations may be emailed to firnhaberg@ecu.edu

Please include the following with your donation:

1. Your name

2. Description of the item

3. Estimated value ($)

4. Suggested starting bid ($)

All donations are tax deductible and support Beta Nu grants, scholarships, and awards. 

Bidding details:

Online bidding opens April 1st, followed by in-person bidding during the Beta Nu Spring Banquet on April 16th.

Now that Beta Nu scholarships and grant applications are closed, we would like to remind you of additional scholarship and grant opportunities available through Sigma. Taking advantage of these opportunities is a great way to maximize your Sigma membership benefits. 

Scholarships

There are 3 scholarship opportunities, including a new RN to BSN scholarship and an accelerated BSN or DNP scholarship. Some do not require Sigma membership, so be sure to share among your colleagues and students who may be eligible. More information can be found here. 

Grants

Many grants are available, with some applications due April 1 and May 1. Sigma membership is required for all, and additional affiliations may be required for some grants. Check out this page for more information.

The following scholarships and grants are available:

• 1 Graduate Nursing Scholarship ($500)
• 1 Undergraduate Nursing Scholarship ($500)
• 1 Travel Grant (up to $1000)
• 2 Research Grants (up to $1000 each)

Please see the attachment for the application requirements for each. You must be a current member of Beta Nu to apply.

Awards

The following awards are open for nominations: 

• Excellence in Practice
• Outstanding Mentor
• Excellence in Education
• Excellence in Research
• Excellence in Leadership
• Jane Boardman Friend Friend of Nursing (recipient does not have to be a Beta Nu member)

You must be a current member of Beta Nu to nominate another Beta Nu member for these awards.
